Do You Have a Real Job?

"Why don't you go get yourself a real job!"

Who has heard this phrase before? Either from family or friends or just people in their life. I definitely have and that is why I am writing this post! I want to talk about this concept that people have in our society that you need to have a "real" job in order to succeed in life. The idea of a real job is probably a desk job (corporate job) or something similar where you can go to mon-fri, 9-5, and have the weekends off to relax. Well, not everyone wants to do that! Shocker, I know!

Just to make things clear, I do have a "real" job. Blogging and YouTube is not my job, it is just a hobby. My "real" job is working at a store as a Senior Manager (one step down from the Store Manager). You might think this should be defined as a real job but many think otherwise, just because my schedule is not MON-FRI 9-5 or just for the fact that it is in the retail industry. People have a misconception about retail, that it is the worst industry to be in. If you are with the right company, it can be quite enjoyable.

When people think about retail, they think that it is for people who want nothing out of life, who are still trying to figure out what they actually want to do. Some people even think that they are better than those who work retail. Well, that might be the case if you are working in retail part time while you are still in school and want extra money. I actually started that way but worked my way up to where I am today.I have advanced in my field. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Design and I do want to use it and start my own company but for now I am learning a lot from just managing a store and learning the ins and outs of it.

Going back to how not having a real job relates to retail. Many people always tell me that I need to get myself a real job where I can just sit at a desk and do whatever that entails for me to do. Well, I am not that type of person. I don't want to be in retail for the rest of my life but I am a creative person and I want to be able to use that creativity to do many different things. For now, retail is my REAL JOB, where I go to every single day and make  money. Yes, I have a crazy schedule and it is not ideal but that doesn't make  my job worse than your job.

It's not just about retail though, its about other non traditional jobs. In today's world, we can turn anything into a job, and not all of those jobs will be 9-5 Monday-Friday and that is ok! Nobody should feel like they need to fit in with the "normal" people. If you can turn a hobby like blogging, YouTube, painting, writing, cooking into a job then more power to you! That means you can wake up every single day and be excited about going to work. Most people will think "oh, that is not a real job!" Well guess what Einstein? If you are working and dedicating your time to anything and you are making a living out of it, then it is a REAL JOB!

Also, if you are changing jobs all the time and can't find the right one for you, that does not mean you are a terrible person! Trying new things is always a good thing and one day you will find what works best for you. Some people love their traditional jobs and that is ok too but they need to know that not everyone is like that and just because they are not like that, does not mean that they are less of a person.

Having a "real" job is having A Job! It can be anything you want it to be! If you are making money and paying your bills you have "A REAL JOB". So, people out there who refer to non traditional jobs as "NOT REAL" please stop! Every job is a real job and it does not define the person. Maybe they are still finding themselves and need a job to just help with bills, maybe they have great plans that they are working on on the side but as long as they have a job, it is REAL! It is definitely not fake, or made up, it is A JOB!

So, if any of you guys have been  victims of the dreadful "Why don't you get a real job" or "Wait until you have a real job" remarks, and you are over there working your butt off everyday at your job, please let me know in the comments below because I know I'm probably not the only one..

How to Cut Your Own Hair

Hi everyone!

I decided to do a video for you all and show you how I cut my own hair at home. This is because I know, a lot of people, like me, hate going to the salon and not getting the haircut that they asked for. They usually never give you the exact cut that you ask for. There are definitely some amazing stylists out there and I don't want to put them down in any way, but for those of us who just want to take things into our own hands, here is a video that shows you how to do it.

Let me know in the comments below if any of you have actually cut your own hair before or if you would ever try it :)

Oscars 2016 my Best Dressed List

Doesn't everyone just love Awards Season? There are celebrities, fashion and gossip everywhere you look and boy is it entertaining!!

This past weekend was the Oscars and everyone was definitely rooting for Leonardo Dicaprio to win (myself included) and he did win, and what a glorious time it was! haha I am just so happy for him. He is an amazing actor and deserves the recognition just like the rest of the nominees!

But, I am not here to talk about the Oscars per say but to take a look at my favorite looks from the red carpet and some of the after parties.

So here are a few of my favorites:

1. Rachel McAdams- I just loved her look on the red carpet as well as the after party. Even though she wore similar dresses I think they looked amazing on her! She was definitely glowing

2. Jennifer Lawrence- I loved her look at the After Party! Young and sophisticated! Didn't really like her red carpet gown as much

 3. Taylor Swift-After Party look; similar to Jennifer Lawrence's, I thought she looked great!

4. Selena Gomez- I thought her dress was really cool in that metallic silver

 5. Nina Dobrev- Loved her princess look and she was also just glowing!

 6. Miranda Kerr- Her dress was definitely made for a supermodel! Only she could pull something off like that and look amazing!

7. Charlize Theron- Another red gown! Looks gorgeous on  her and I love the train

8. Olivia Wilde- looked stunning in this dress! I like how she is showing some skin at the top but the bottom is super flowy and girly

9.Jessica Biel- Such a pretty dress! Again another high slit gown but I love how the top is sparkly and fun

10. Isla Fisher- She is as cute as a button! I thought her dress was adorable and made her look super cute

11. Kate Winslet- Gotta love her! I thought her dress was intriguing, the metallic was gorgeous with that print on it!

12. Brie Larson- This dress just makes me think of royalty! The blue is vibrant and looks beautiful on her and that belt is just the perfect touch to make the dress pop!

13. Cate Blanchette- This dress just makes me excited for spring! She looks so fresh and beautiful and couture

14. Jennifer Garner- She looks amazing in this black sophisticated dress. I am actually more interested in her shoes! They are beautiful

15. Diane Kruger- There's something special about this dress. I love the color and the lace and bead work! Just stunning on her

16.Kate Beckinsale- This is just a sleek, modern dress and I think it shows off her figure and makes her look statuesque! She's gorgeous!

Carli Bybel Palette

Hi guys!

Welcome back to my blog! I hope that everyone is doing amazing and having a great day :)

In this post I wanted to share with you all a new palette that I have been using recently. It is the Carli Bybel Palette! I am sure everyone knows who Carli is. She is a popular Youtuber and amazing makeup artist. I think she is probably one of the best at makeup that I have seen on Youtube. Even though she has been around forever, I just recently discovered her as I am looking into discovering more youtubers. I have been watching the same ones for a very long time haha!

She actually came out with this palette about a year ago, I think. I decided to give it a shot since I had seen her videos where she talks about it and also uses it on her own face! When I went to the website to buy it I also discovered that the price was amazing! It is on sale for $12.50! I think that's an amazing price!

I went ahead and ordered it and have been using it for about 2 weeks now. I wanted to share with you all my thoughts on it (even though I am sure many of you might already own the palette)! But if you don't and have been thinking about getting it, then read on!

The Palette

The packaging is pretty. It is not the best quality but decent enough for what you are paying. It comes with 14 Eyeshadows and Highlighters. Four highlighters and 10 eyeshadows to be exact :) You can purchase it from the BH Cosmetics website.

The palette is vegan, paraben free and non irritating which is great if you have sensitive skin

The eyeshadows are a mix of matte and shimmery, light and dark. You can achieve a daytime look and a nighttime look quite easily. I love that you get some shimmer but also some matte to add to your crease or underneath the eyebrow.

The highlighters are amazing as well. They are highly pigmented just like the eyeshadows and they give you a nice glow without looking like you have a ton of shimmer on your cheeks.

The palette is also cruelty free which is definitely a plus in my book!

I recently did an everyday easy look using the palette and this is how it turned out:

 what I used:

Overall, I think this is a great palette! The packaging is a 3/5 and the product is a 5/5 for me!

Different day, I used more of the purple all over and the highlight in the inner corner

Let me know if you have tried this palette and how you liked it in the comments below!

Hope you guys enjoyed this review and I'll talk to you later!
